Spray molybdenum wire is frequently used as underlayer of the machine tool guide copper spraying. With molybdenum as the primer layer, it can improve the combination of steel and the substrate. Molybdenum can be strongly combined to carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, nickel based nickel alloy, magnesium and its alloys, aluminum and alloy etc. And molybdenum is the only metal which has resistance to heat concentrated hydrochloric acid corrosion. Purity of thermal spraying molybdenum wire is at least 99.9% or higher and wire diameter is 2.0mm-2.3mm.
Molybdenum is a refractory metal with melting point up to 2630 ° C. Because molybdenum and hydrogen does not react, it’s used as a high temperature coating under hydrogen protection or vacuum conditions. And due to the low friction coefficient of molybdenum, it’s suitable for spray the piston rings and the friction plate wear-resistant coating.
When using the spraying molybdenum wire, the molten molybdenum can be dissolved into the metal base, and even can form metallurgical bonding with 1μm thickness on a smooth cut surface. So it is also can be used as a primer layer bonding layer material.
Continuously working is very important to spraying job. That’s why every user has specific requests to unit weight or length to molybdenum spraying wires. Unit weight of a good quality molybdenum spraying wire is no less than 10kg. Sometimes the users request unit weight 20-25kg.
