Molybdenum alloy has excellent high temperature performance and high recrystallization temperature. Conductivity of thermal of TZM alloy is good and it also has good resistance to repidly varied temperatures.
TZM offers twice the strength of pure moly at temperatures over 1300°C. The recrystallization temperature of TZM is approximately 250°C higher than moly and it offers better weldability.
TZM alloy has 0.50% Ti, 0.08% Zr and 0.02% C with the balance Molybdenum, which is produced by either P/M or Arc Cast technologies and is of great utility due to its high strength/high temperature applications, especially above 2000'F.
